Commonly asked questions clients have when considering the engagement of consultants:

Supply Chain Consulting Globe
Can we discuss our requirements with no obligation?

Of course, we are happy to discuss how we can help your business and where possible we like to visit the site to meet face to face and fully appreciate your requirements to establish how we can help you.

Supply Chain Consulting Globe

What happens when we call or meet you?

Once we understand your requirements we will outline the scope and deliverables of the work we can deliver for you and outline our approach, timeline and likely cost before we do any formal proposals.

Supply Chain Consulting Globe

How much does it cost to engage your services?

We cost every customer proposal individually based on the scope of work, which is always dependent on the scale and scope of work however, as an indication, an end to end warehouse review for a medium-sized warehouse, including all elements of layout, process and systems will cost between £8,000 – £20,000 depending on the complexity of the operation.  A detailed warehouse simulation would usually cost between £25,000 – £30,000. A complete network design of multiple warehouses between £15,000 – £30,000. When considering using consultants we realise that cost is a factor however, we usually identify savings through our solutions that deliver benefits significantly beyond our initial cost and on an ongoing basis.

What if I have a budget?

If you have a fixed budget for a piece of work, we will discuss this in our first meeting to ensure we can deliver the most beneficial scope of work within your budget.

Supply Chain Consulting Globe

Can you start projects quickly if necessary?

Yes – we have a very agile and capable team and we can usually agree on a start date for a project no later than 2 weeks following the approval of a customer proposal.

We can leverage additional resources where an immediate start is required.

How long does it take to complete a full warehouse or network review?

A mid-sized warehouse review with normal complexity can be completed usually in 6-8 weeks from end to end.  A network review involving multiple warehouse scenarios would normally take 8-12 weeks to complete.

What can I expect in the process?

We always kick a new project off with a launch meeting on site. In this meeting, we will verify the scope, deliverables and timeline for the project and establish key relationships. A discovery phase is our first task, during this time we will collect key data as well as understanding in detail a day in the life of your operation. Once we have completed discovery we carry out initial analysis and findings, which are presented back to you in an interim review session.  During this session, we will re-visit the original scope and deliverables to align any changes.  Assuming all is well at this point we will carry out detailed design work to pull together a fully documented solution for you.

What can I expect from the final output?

The final project review will deliver the detailed methodology and thinking, concepts of design, detailed design and analysis, 2d/3d layout designs (where applicable), expected cost and benefits of change as well as an outline implementation plan. We have very sophisticated design technology and show our end solutions in 3d walkthrough and animated/simulated activity visualisation as part of our normal outputs.

Once you make reccomendations can you help us to implement them?

Absolutely, this is a strong feature of our overall offering and we often work alongside our clients through implementation phases. Our customer engagements are a journey for us that we embark on with our customer, not for our customer. We can assist in all aspects of implementing change from vendor selection to implementation planning, project support and operational implementation support. When we present the outputs of our review stage work, we always discuss the next steps to ascertain any assistance in implementation that will be required.
